Fridays / 6:00 - 7:00 PM / OCT 24TH. TO JAN. 9TH Beginner Level (open to all) Duration: 10 weeks – 1 class/week – 60 minutes per class Total Instruction Time: 10 hours No prerequisites required $797 Course Description: This is our beginner-level electronic music production course. No prior experience is necessary. In this course, students will develop a strong foundation in the tools, techniques, and workflows essential to composing and producing electronic music using a digital audio workstation (DAW). This course is taught using Ableton Live Intro. What You Will Learn: • DAW fundamentals (navigating Ableton Live) • MIDI vs. audio: understanding the difference • Basic music theory • Step sequencing with drum racks • Using samples and loops effectively • Building basslines and melodies • Loop-based composition • Basic song structure • Introduction to EQ and mixing levels • Exporting your work for playback and sharing Required Materials: • Supplied by MixAcademy in class Culminating Project: Students will create a short (1–2 minute) original beat or loop-based sketch to be shared in an in-class listening session and also at an end of term listening event.

Mix Academy Booking Policy 1. Course Registration All courses must be booked in advance through wearemodusmusic.com. Spaces are limited and filled on a first-come, first-served basis. All payments must be made in full to reserve a course. 2. Payments All payments are non-refundable. All payments must be made through wearemodusmusic.com 3. Cancellations If Mix Academy cancels a course, all payments will be refunded in full. If a student withdraws for any reason, no refund will be issued. 4. Missed Classes Missed classes are non-refundable. We do not guarantee makeup sessions, but we will do our best to accommodate where possible. 5. Age Requirements DJ and music production courses are open to students aged 14+ unless otherwise specified. 6. Student Responsibilities Students are expected to arrive on time and bring required materials (e.g. headphones, laptop, software). Disruptive behavior may result in removal from the course without refund. Just be nice, be kind. Easy. 7.
